Prasad Gopalan is an Independent Director (Additional, Non-Executive) of the Investment Manager. Mr. Gopalan is a seasoned global investment leader with more than 25 years of experience at the International Finance Corporation (World Bank Group), where he was responsible for managing multi-billion-dollar agribusiness and forestry portfolios, developing sector strategies, and leading diverse global and regional teams. As Global Sector Manager for Agribusiness and Forestry, he oversaw an annual investment program of $1.5–2 billion and a $5 billion portfolio, while also chairing credit committees and driving knowledge management across sectors. Earlier, as Asia Regional Manager, he built and managed high-performing investment teams and shaped IFC’s agribusiness and forestry strategy in the region. He currently serves on the boards of BAF Joint Stock Company, Vietnam’s leading pork producer, and Sunshine Healthcare in Sri Lanka, and recently co-chaired the Technical Advisory Committee of the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP). His prior governance roles include serving on the shareholders’ committee of VECO (Sumitomo Forestry, Vietnam), the board of Agrivision (Zambia), as board observer at Suguna Foods (India), and on the advisory committee of Rabo India Fund I. Across his career, he has worked extensively with sponsors, boards, and CXOs, bringing expertise in food security, sustainable investments, and emerging markets.
He holds a Master of Public Policy in Finance from Harvard Kennedy School, a Master of Environmental Engineering from Penn State, a Master of Chemical Engineering from the University of Toledo, and a B.E. (Hons) in Chemical Engineering from BITS Pilani.
